Stainless Steel Oval Ring Joint Gaskets for Petroleum Industry

Ring joint gaskets were primarily developed for high-pressure and high-temperature applications in petroleum industry, they are used in well-drilling and well-completion equipment.

Ring joint gaskets are made by forging, heat treatment and machining work, is a kind of metal sealing gasket applied in pipe flange, pressure vessel, high-temperature and high-temperature valves, especially in areas with fluctuation of pressure and temperature, they can still keep comparatively good sealing function.

The commonly used R type  ring joing gaskets are classified into two types according to the shape of cross-section, one is oval type, the other is octagonal type. The standard R type ring gaskets are produced according to standards AP16A and ASMER1620, with maximum pressure of 10000PSL. In trapezoid flanges, oval type gaskets can be used alternatively with octagonal type gaskets.

BX type is suitable for increasing pressure system with its design pressure up to 15000PS.

Note: material hardness of metal ring gaskets should be HB15-20 lower than flange surface, and the gaskets are not suggested to be used repeatedly.
